I didn't think Toibin could beat Brooklyn but he did. I laughed. I cried, I longed. I don't know how he makes such a small story so encompassing. I believe every word he writes. I listened to this one on Bookbeat and it was extraordinary. It doesn't matter what you enjoy reading, you'll enjoy this.
